  • Rishi, you are so different compared to your previous video a year ago. No anxiety at all now. I know you’re doing the holistic approach. That’s what I am doing. I’ve always practiced meditation… both TM, and Buddhist. I’m a trained counsellor too (psychodynamic) so I have a good understanding of my personal biology as well as the recent experiences that have built up to cause my current debilitating panic/anxiety. I have been on SSRI’s in the past and made the mistake of weaning off after a year, only to crash right back with anxiety. I have the mindset and education to believe that some of us are just wired in a way that makes us predisposed to anxiety or depression. Of course it depends how bad it is. It is strange that people still feel that they should only be on SSRI’s for a short time. I guess if the cause was a particular traumatic event, rather than it being a brain chemistry imbalance, then a short period on medication will get you back on track. However, I really do believe that my family are predisposed to anxiety under pressure and for me, a maintenance low dose is probably going to be the way to go. Yoga/meditation/mindfulness are not enough. So, even therapists are human and need help. This makes it much easier to empathise with others. Right now though in week 3, the background elevated anxiety is exhausting. I’m hoping it will ease off soon. How long did you notice hat ease off?
