  • I feel the same angst, but as the premise of your monologue admits, we have so much to do to "get back", that there is no being free of the dead hand of Trump, be it in the courts, immigration, tax systems, social justice and inequality, polarized public opinion, and it goes on. We can hope to be free but the metastases of the cancer that was this travesty of a presidency live on in other places and our nation will not be free of it until we have eradicated every last one, and even then, like the cancer patient in remission, we will only be able to hope it doesn't resurface one day in a new location with new consequences. Alas, this is one of the perils of democracy, but persevere it must, and it is incumbent on all of us to ensure it happens.

  • Trump would not have been president if not so many voteres had elected him. They are probably in many ways like him,and still are . That is why the problems in USA will continue, too many trumpists.

  • To all Americans…here is the definition of Dictatorship……., form of government in which one person or a small group possesses absolute power without effective constitutional limitations. The term dictatorship comes from the Latin title dictator, which in the Roman Republic designated a temporary magistrate who was granted extraordinary powers in order to deal with state crises. Modern dictators, however, resemble ancient tyrants rather than ancient dictators. Ancient philosophers’ descriptions of the tyrannies of Greece and Sicily go far toward characterizing modern dictatorships. Dictators usually resort to force or fraud to gain despotic political power, which they maintain through the use of intimidation, terror, and the suppression of basic civil liberties. They may also employ techniques of mass propaganda in order to sustain their public support. Wake up for crying out loud. Y'all cannot be that blind and ignorant.

  • I'm sorry, but no. I'm happy his Twitter account was closed and so we don't have the constant barrage of his every deluded thought. (imagine his gloating at been acquitted) However, acquittal means it is not over. This is like 1923 in Germany; Hitler stages a failed coup attempt and they don't deal with him. Just as the senate failed to deal with Trump. 1933 and Hitler is dictator in Germany 6 more years and he is invading Poland and then over the next 6 years the loss of life is appalling. With modern technology it may be a lot worse. The hate, the division everything is still there. I feel no relief whatsoever – NONE!

  • One aftermath: 43 Republican Senators put their Wannabe Dictator ahead of our Democracy. Take down their names and donate to their challenger in every election going forward, even if they don't live in your state. Flirting with Fascism is not a good look. Enough is enough.

  • I wonder how far liberals will go to protect their political leeches?? Do you think if their mother or grandmother was in a nursing home in NY and they died of COVID from someone that Cuomo forced the nursing home to take in, would they still lie for and support their POS politician??? I heard a funny one: The ONLY way you could get into a nursing home in New York was if you HAD COVID!!!! 9,000+ Wrongful Death suits! I wonder what the sentence in NY is for the negligent homicide of 9,000+ people? Oh, that’s right, they don’t believe in killing murders BUT they FULLY SUPPORT MURDERING INNOCENT BABIES UP UNTIL THE MINUTE OF THE BIRTH!!

  • Our iconic JFK gave us the roadmap for economic prosperity. Trump opened that roadmap and the end result was a supercharged economy. During the supercharged economy the United States lowered the poverty rate to what it was in the 1960s. The Wall Street Journal reported that lower and middle income Americans received a higher percentage of wage increase then did upper class workers. Black unemployment was at an all time low. Women, Hispanics and blacks entered into entrepreneurship. During the supercharged economy we had full employment.
All of this progress came to an end when COVID-19 swept the world, what is responsible for the deaths of millions of people and shut down the worlds economy.
JFK through Trump presented Joe with a solid foundation on which to build a new supercharged economy. Joe promised America during the campaign that he would get us out of the COVID-19 crisis, open up our schools in our business. We must work hard so that Joe can keep his campaign promise.

  • If he isn’t punished, America’s word on the world stage means nothing. He was a dictator who tried to hold power and he’s paid what price?

What checks and balances? An absolute shithole country!!!

  • To other outsiders –
It's over ? No. Trump's legacy was to do the world a favour by making it undeniable that WHITE nationalism – MAGA world – is the core of America.

  • Everyone wants to forget, but the threat of trump and his elk will grow unless it is thoroughly stamped out. We can’t afford to look away

  • No, it's on you. Trump is a spectacle that allows you to be lazy non-journalists. Tell me something I don't know about domestic poverty, deregulation, the war in Yemen or the myopic US foreign policy in Iran or Venezuela. No substance here.

  • The problem is that we haven't gotten justice yet! This orange insurrectionist SOB!!! He needs to suffer with some major consequences for his actions!!! ONLY AFTER THAT, we can completely move on.
